  1. Lovely photographs Denise - I don't think I have ever been there, although they do a lovely afternoon tea at Swinton Castle, which must be somewhere near. Those nuns tombs are most interesting.

  2. I've not seen those stone coffins. They look interesting. I'll have to pay them a visit.

Where did you get the picture on your profile page - did you make it of find it?

  3. weaver - Swinton Castle is in the grounds of Swinton Park. It's a lovely place to wander around especially at the moment with the blossom in bloom. Also there are lots of rhododendrons about to burst into flower which would be worth another visit. I also took a photo of their (almost) white deer but could not get close enough to capture these beautiful, but very timid creatures. And I agree, the teas are wonderful! Also the castle has some very inspiring interiors.

  4. Dominic - my profile portrait is taken from an illustration I painted for Red Riding Hood. I thought it would make a change from a photo. It does have certain similarities with myself - dark hair, pale skin,... long bendy arms - and a horrified expression during my more manic moments!

  5. Denise,
I was excited to see those stone coffins, so cool. I have never seen anything like that before. I also love that picture of the tree with the prominent roots. Awesome!
Thanks for your comments about my bear painting. I really like your venetian paintings. I need to go look and see what else you have on here. I'm following you, so I'll be back.
